Chris Gamble – Former Carolina Panthers CB

The Carolina Panthers have had a lot of solid cornerbacks but no true “elite” ones throughout its history. So, this one goes to Chris Gamble based on the fact of how long he played for the organization and the level of consistency he brought from 2004 to 2012.

Gamble leads the franchise all-time in interceptions with 27 and passes defended with 98. While never selected to the Pro Bowl, the talented defensive back was always reliable and led the team multiple times in interceptions.

While Josh Norman might have one of the best single seasons ever in Panthers history, Gamble’s resume is one of the best and he is truly underrated.

His competitive fire and natural instincts made Gamble a real asset in all phases of play. Others may have had more physical and athletic gifts, but there won’t have been many that worked harder and gave everything to the cause.

The Panthers will be hoping Jaycee Horn surges his way up the ranks and into this spot in the not-too-distant future. He certainly has the tools to do just that, even though his rookie campaign was cruelly cut short by a broken foot in Week 3 at the Houston Texans.
