Best starter at every Carolina Panthers position in franchise history

Steve Smith – Former Carolina Panthers WR
I mean, who else?
Steve Smith was the heart and soul of the Carolina Panthers from 2001 until 2013. After his tenure ended with the team in a tough way, fans have to be ecstatic that he is back involved with the organization and throughout the region.
Smith was a two-time first-team All-Pro, five-time Pro Bowler, and led the league in receiving yards in 2005. This was also the year where he achieved the famous Triple Crown that remained elusive for all until Cooper Kupp achieved the same feat in 2021 for the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams.
There is no question that Smith will soon be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, even if the wide receiver did not get in on the first ballot as many expected.
When it comes to offensive players, he and Cam Newton are right there at the top. Legendary figures who played the game in a ferocious style that was hard not to love.
Smith demanded the best from himself and his teammates. He might have talked a lot of trash, but this was backed up by elite production more often than not.
