Andrew Norwell – Former Carolina Panthers OG

There have been a lot of solid left guards in Carolina Panthers history. But the level of consistency that Andrew Norwell provided during his few years with the team cannot be forgotten.

Signed as an undrafted free agent, Norwell exceeded all expectations with the Panthers and he helped the team become one of the best rushing units in the league. He was a ferocious run blocker that produced a surprising level of consistency considering how overlooked the interior offensive lineman was during his pre-draft evaluation process.

In 2015, Norwell was a starter on Carolina’s Super Bowl team, and in 2017, he was named first-team All-Pro after being ranked as the third-highest guard in the league, according to Pro Football Focus.

Unfortunately, Norwell signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars that offseason, deciding to cash in on his success and achieve financial security after such a prolific campaign.

The player’s career has not been the same since, but Norwell will be hoping for better luck in 2022 after deciding to link up with his former head coach Ron Rivera once again with the Washington Commanders on a two-year, $10 million deal that also included a $3.5 million signing bonus and $4.7 million guaranteed.
