Christian McCaffrey – Carolina Panthers RB

Not having Christian McCaffrey available for a consistent period of time once again came back to bite the Carolina Panthers in 2021. The running back featured just seven times and things spiraled out of control without the All-Pro shouldering the load, which is a situation that simply has to change if the team wants to be competitive next season.

McCaffrey has done some nice things this offseason as he looks to avoid further complications on the health front. Something that can hopefully see the player return to his iron man image of old.

There is now a chip on McCaffrey’s shoulder that wasn’t there previously. If the former first-round pick remains motivated and free of injury, then this could be the catalyst behind bigger and better things to come.

Any further troubles will only heighten questions surrounding the Panthers’ decision to give McCaffrey such a lucrative contract. But there is a middle-ground situation where the production remains elite and the player does end up missing a game or two.

This wouldn’t be ideal, but it might not put other teams off from making a trade. A situation that might be better received by those in power after they spurned the Buffalo Bills’ advances this offseason.

Trading McCaffrey makes no financial sense until 2024. But if this is something they consider, then things always get worked out in some way, shape, or form.
