5 WRs for Carolina Panthers to target if Robbie Anderson retires in 2022

Carolina Panthers could target Julio Jones
If the Carolina Panthers wanted to make a bigger splash in the event Robbie Anderson retired, however unlikely that might be, then putting in a call to Julio Jones is one way to accomplish this. The future Pro Football Hall of Famer might be heading into the twilight of his career, but there should be one or two good years left providing the wide receiver stays clear of the injury problems that blighted his brief spell with the Tennessee Titans.
Jones is a dynamic force that has a rare ability to change the course of a game. The Panthers have found that out to their cost over the player’s career with the Atlanta Falcons before his move to Tennessee.
It’s something of a surprise to see Jones still without a team. But the former Alabama stud might be waiting for the right opportunity on an organization that has a better chance of contending for a Super Bowl.
Carolina appears some way off this target right now. However, they could present Jones with a starting role opposite D.J. Moore and there is also plenty of salary-cap space to offer him a very reasonable offer with mutual interest.
Anderson is a focal point that would be hard to replace despite his decrease in numbers last season. Jones would fix all that in an instant and his presence would also provide the likes of Terrace Marshall Jr. and Shi Smith with an exceptional role model for good measure.
