Robbie Anderson – Carolina Panthers WR

It’s been an eventful offseason period for Robbie Anderson. The wideout became the subject of trade speculation before the draft after a significant downturn in numbers in 2021, with the latest development involving a tweet stating that retirement was even being contemplated by the Temple product.

Anderson deleted the tweet and has since indicated he won’t be quitting. But that does not detract from what an important campaign it is for the wide receiver, which will be his third with the Carolina Panthers.

Much will depend on just who is getting him the football under center. Anderson had some chemistry issues with Sam Darnold last time around and if the Panthers move forward with the USC product in the final year of his deal, it will involve some compromise from the former New York Jets teammates.

Anderson was also less than thrilled with speculation linking Carolina with Baker Mayfield prior to the draft. However, this remains a likely scenario and something the speedy receiver needs to get on board with quickly if a deal with the Cleveland Browns is agreed upon.

The veteran skipped voluntary OTAs once again. So Anderson needs to hit the ground running in pursuit of better fortunes in 2022.
