Tommy Tremble – Carolina Panthers TE

The Carolina Panthers placed a significant amount of faith in Tommy Tremble this offseason. Those in power decided to stand pat at the tight end position despite the lack of production since Greg Olsen was allowed to leave in 2020 free agency, which was thanks in no small part to Ben McAdoo’s influence and how they could develop within his scheme.

Tremble certainly flashed promise as a rookie. His physical presence was a key asset – albeit briefly – but there is some refinement needed for the Notre Dame product to become an influential force in the passing game.

The former third-round selection is already an elite blocker, which was not a surprise after how he dominated this area of play in college. If Tremble can become a better route-runner and reliable when targets come his way, he’ll be the total package.

Any improvements the Panthers generate from the tight end spot will be a bonus. Tremble will need to beat out Ian Thomas for the lion’s share of targets after Carolina extended the player this offseason, but the intangibles are there with additional growth.

If nothing else, Tremble provides a superb asset in pass protection and on running downs. Something that will be of real use as the Panthers look to move forward with a power-running attack in 2022.
