Dennis Daley – Carolina Panthers OL

One could argue that Dennis Daley has had more than enough chances to prove his worth. The former sixth-round pick once again struggled with injuries and a lack of consistency in 2021, which came with almost no accountability from the player along the way.

The Carolina Panthers now have multiple options ahead of Daley on the depth chart. Whether this can inspire the South Carolina product to finally start making better use of his physical attributes during the team’s offseason program is another matter.

There are times throughout his stint in Carolina where Daley’s looked the part. However, these moments have been fleeting and it wouldn’t be a big surprise to see the primary decision-makers cut loose the offensive lineman entirely before their Week 1 opener at home to the Cleveland Browns.

Daley turned out in 573 snaps for the Panthers in 2021, giving up three sacks and conceding a whopping nine penalties en route to a dismal 51.9 grade from Pro Football Focus. Not exactly stats that provide the greatest optimism that things will change.

With Austin Corbett and Cade Mays arriving on the team and the prospect of Brady Christensen becoming a full-time presence on the interior, it’s going to take a turnaround of epic proportions to see Daley get one more shot in the final year of his rookie contract.
