Carolina Panthers QB Matt Corral had a good day
There is nothing Matt Corral can do about the speculation and reported talks going on between the Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns regarding Baker Mayfield. That is out of his control and something that the rookie should not be worrying all that much about during his transition to the professional ranks.
The Panthers clearly see something in Corral after trading up to No. 94 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft to secure his services. It’s going to be a work in progress throughout the summer and even into the campaign, but the intangibles are there to potentially become a starting option over time.
Corral was given plenty of reps on Wednesday and made the mist of them. According to the media in attendance, the signal-caller was efficient, accurate, and made some impressive throws during a solid practice from the Ole Miss product.
Again, this is relatively early in the preparation period. And we are sure to find out more about what sort of impact Corral could make when it’s time to take the field in Spartanburg.
However, this will be another major confidence boost for Corral and one he can hopefully build upon in the coming weeks.
Just what happens around him in the quarterback room has yet to be formally determined. But remaining focused on the task in hand will be key for Corral whatever the Panthers decide to do in the not-too-distant future.
