5 Carolina Panthers critical to potential culture shift in 2022
By Dean Jones
Jaycee Horn – Carolina Panthers CB
It might sound strange to have someone with just 2.5 games of NFL experience under his belt. But Jaycee Horn‘s exceptional talent and overall attitude make him an integral part of this process.
Horn came into the Carolina Panthers with plenty of expectations on his shoulders as the No. 8 overall selection. It did not take long for the cornerback to catch the eye, with his supreme athleticism and alpha mentality completely shifting the landscape within the secondary.
Things took an unfortunate turn in Week 3 at the Houston Texans when Horn suffered a broken foot that ruled him out for the entire season. This absence has led to the player developing even more hunger to make his presence felt and the Panthers will undoubtedly benefit if there are no further complications on the health front.
Players young and old will be looking towards Horn for inspiration. That is a lot to ask of someone so young, but nothing the South Carolina product isn’t more than capable of.
Horn is a tone-setter who has a swagger that is hard to match. Couple this with unbelievable intensity and traits that cannot be taught, and a potential NFL Comeback Player of the Year campaign is well within reach.
If Horn can rub off on his teammates in a positive way, then he could be a catalyst behind a culture shift across the Panthers. Something the organization sorely needs.
