What things must the Carolina Panthers figure out before the team heads to Spartanburg for a pivotal 2022 training camp?

With the Carolina Panthers wrapping up their mandatory minicamp on Thursday, players and coaches will now get a period of rest before the all-important training camp rolls around before the 2022 season. This is sure to be a fascinating few weeks for everyone associated with the franchise and what transpires could play a significant role in their fortunes when the real action gets underway.

Matt Rhule and Scott Fitterer will discuss what’s occurred on the practice field so far in the coming days. The head coach and general manager will also come to some conclusions about whether more is needed and how best to utilize the options currently at their disposal.

There doesn’t appear to be much margin for error in Carolina after three successive five-win campaigns. Things are teetering on the brink despite some encouraging arrivals in free agency and from the college ranks, but there is simply no telling how things will play out when push comes to shove.

With this in mind, here are four things the Panthers must figure out before their 2022 training camp.

Carolina Panthers must get Robbie Anderson flying again

It was great to see Robbie Anderson back with the Carolina Panthers after skipping voluntary workouts. He didn’t do much in the way of practicing due to hip soreness, but the wide receiver appears fully committed to the cause in the immediate aftermath of a tweet where he was believed to be contemplating retirement.

Now that the drama surrounding Anderson is hopefully over, the Panthers have to find a way to maximize his production. Something they benefitted from in 2020 as the Temple product hit the ground running following his free-agent move from the New York Jets.

New offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo will have something up his sleeve. And if Anderson also buys into the plans, then a bounce-back campaign won’t be too far behind.
