Carolina Panthers would love to steal Demario Davis

Luke Kuechly has been seen around the Carolina Panthers organization a lot throughout OTAs and the team’s mandatory minicamp. The legendary linebacker’s presence on the field and within the locker room has been sorely missed since his shock retirement due to health concerns in 2019 and Jermaine Carter’s failure to produce the goods last time around led the franchise in another direction this offseason.

Damien Wilson will look to fill the void. But the Panthers need a contingency plan given the player’s offseason arrest and what might follow.

Brandon Smith has the physical tools to become a starter one day, but the fourth-round selection is a little raw and needs some development before he can be trusted with notable reps. Cory Littleton is another option and Frankie Luve could fit in on the interior if needed.

One player that would instantly become a dominant force for the Panthers is Demario Davis, who is the choice to steal from the Saints in this hypothetical scenario. The former third-round pick has been a force almost from the moment he came into the league and remains one of the focal points on a New Orleans defense that has a lot going for it next season.

Davis is a ferocious tackler with proven credentials. Something the Panthers have been sorely lacking since Kuechly gave up the game he loves.
