What are the best pairings on the Carolina Panthers as the team gets set for one of the most important campaigns in franchise history?

Matt Rhule has been working hard this offseason to make sure the Carolina Panthers are a cohesive unit in 2022. The head coach is going down the personal route to familiarize himself with the players and in some cases, letting them take the lead in pursuit of progression.

Whether this can instantly turn around the Panthers‘ fortunes is still undetermined. But it’s sure to enhance team spirit and chemistry during a crucial upcoming campaign for the organization following three consecutive five-win seasons.

Partnerships within key positional groups have to stand up and be counted. This could even help compensate for some areas of the roster that appear to be weak links unless further additions are made.

With this in mind, here are the five best pairings on the Panthers heading into the 2022 season.

Jeremy Chinn & Xavier Woods – Carolina Panthers safeties

The Carolina Panthers have a bonafide superstar on the backend in Jeremy Chinn, who could be set to earn himself a big payday if further improvements are made in 2022. Those in power also gave him a prominent partner at the safety position after acquiring Xavier Woods from the Minnesota Vikings in free agency, who enjoyed a standout campaign last time around after struggling significantly in 2020.

Chinn and Woods could be a prolific tandem if they hit it off. The former sixth-round selection has not been since at the facility so far due to a family matter, but we’ll hopefully get to witness how this pairing gels in training camp.

Carolina’s secondary is arguably the least of their worries heading into the season. Chinn and Woods will be key to any success that comes their way in this area of the field.
