Christian McCaffrey & D’Onta Foreman – Carolina Panthers RBs

Not having Christian McCaffrey‘s exceptional skill set to call upon much in 2021 was the catalyst behind the Carolina Panthers’ concerning downfall. The running back is the team’s best weapon and arguably the league’s best dual-threat when healthy, with the coaching staff having no contingency plan in the event he was forced to the sidelines for the second-straight year.

McCaffrey is back and appears ready to rock once again. But the Panthers must alter their usage of the All-Pro to avoid any further complications regarding his availability.

Carolina got themselves an adequate backup and someone that could also generate some carries with a smooth transition after signing D’Onta Foreman in free agency from the Tennessee Titans. Something that can provide McCaffrey with enough breathing space to remain fresh and firing on all cylinders.

Foreman is a physical runner that can break off big yardage when opportunities arise. He’s also proven capable of shouldering a heavy burden when filling in for Derrick Henry in 2021 as the Titans clinched the AFC’s No. 1 seed against all odds.

Considering the improvements made across the offensive line this spring, it only heightens the level of expectancy about what McCaffrey and Foreman can do as a partnership. If they can produce the goods and stay on the field, then the Panthers are going to benefit enormously.
