Dennis Daley – Carolina Panthers OL

In truth, this could happen way before the 2023 season if Dennis Daley doesn’t show enough in training camp this summer.

The Carolina Panthers are reportedly still harboring hope that Daley can fulfill his promise despite displaying no accountability or solid production last time around. Something that saw those in power decide to keep him around this spring in the belief he can make the most of one final opportunity.

Carolina strengthened their options on the offensive line interior this offseason via free agency and the draft. This only heightens the sense of urgency for Daley to earn reps and even secure his place on the 53-man roster.

Most fans have seen enough of Daley, who gave up three sacks and conceded a whopping nine penalties from 571 snaps in 2021. Impressing new offensive line coach James Campen is the first objective, but earning a new deal is a completely different challenge.

Only time will tell as to whether or not Daley can raise his game accordingly. But the Panthers have more than enough talent to cope and enhance productivity if they cut ties with the lineman before the 2022 season or when his contract expires.
