Who are the most important players on the Carolina Panthers who are not expected to start during the 2022 season?

If the Carolina Panthers are to stand any chance of making a better go of things in 2022, then everyone needs to come together and get this organization out of the abyss. Head coach Matt Rhule is firmly in the firing line heading into the new campaign, but many players are also fighting for their respective futures during what promises to be a fascinating season on and off the field.

The Panthers do have plenty of talent across the board and those in power did a nice job of rectifying problem positions aside from the quarterback spot in free agency and the draft. Whether this amounts to anything is undetermined, but it has reignited hope among many despite some lowly projections from the national media.

Influential figures must remain healthy and provide key contributions. But those further down the pecking order will also be tasked with coming up with the goods when reps come their way.

With this in mind, here are the four most important Panthers players not expected to start in 2022.

The Carolina Panthers need some help from their wide receivers to be competitive next season. D.J. Moore’s production remains exceptional despite the lack of consistent quarterback play, but others must also make massive improvements based on the previous campaign.

One new arrival to the rotation also has the scope to assist enormously. Rashard Higgins flashed moments of class during his time with the Cleveland Browns, but he took a step back last time around, and unless something changes, his future in the league will be bleak.

However, the Panthers and Higgins seem like a good match, so it would be a surprise to see him fail within Ben McAdoo’s system.
