Which Carolina Panthers players recently acquired by the team could be cut before the 2022 season gets underway?
It’s been a frantic offseason for the Carolina Panthers in terms of recruitment. Influential figures within the organization left no stone unturned in pursuit of finally making legitimate progress in 2022, which has seen plenty of useful pieces come on board via free agency and the draft to assist their cause.
Obviously, there are still one or two areas that need reinforcement. The defensive line could use additional depth across the board and there remain some huge concerns about the quarterback position despite Matt Corral possessing some long-term upside.
The Panthers have enough money to make a splash or two should they wish. Considering the urgency surrounding Matt Rhule to get this franchise trending in the right direction, that seems like a guarantee one way or another.
As for the new recruits, here are four signings that could be cut by Carolina before their Week 1 encounter against the Cleveland Browns.
Player No. 1
Wyatt Miller – Carolina Panthers OL
The Carolina Panthers have done a tremendous job of strengthening their offensive line this offseason. Something that was long overdue after years of poor production and almost no consistency aside from stud right tackle Taylor Moton.
This has also improved depth, with many veterans who occupied starting positions last season now in backup roles. While this is welcome, it doesn’t do Wyatt Miller’s chances of making the 53-man roster any good at all.
Miller has bounced around the league since going undrafted in 2019 and has never been on the field for a regular-season game. That is unlikely to change in Carolina.
