Terrace Marshall Jr. – Carolina Panthers WR

After an anonymous rookie campaign, it’s time for Terrace Marshall Jr. to prove why the Carolina Panthers ignored their need for offensive line help and selected the wide receiver at No. 59 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Easier said than done given his difficulty getting open last time around. But the size and athleticism alone indicate the LSU product has much more to give.

Marshall has stood out considerably during offseason workouts and the wideout could benefit significantly from Ben McAdoo’s arrival as offensive coordinator. Getting off on the front foot will be crucial to enhance trust, although this is also dependent on whether the Panthers have a competent signal-caller getting the football in his direction.

If Marshall can impose himself effectively, it piles extra pressure on the likes of D.J. Moore, Robbie Anderson, and even Christian McCaffrey. It will also raise questions about whether or not Carolina made the right move at the time.

The situation regarding Marshall is precarious. There’s a reason why he generated just 30 targets in 2021 and was even benched for Carolina’s game at the Miami Dolphins, so the player should be under no illusions whatsoever about the task awaiting him.
