Panthers full 7-round 2023 mock draft if Baker Mayfield earns new deal

Carolina Panthers select Luke Wypler
- Offensive Line | Ohio State
Although the Carolina Panthers made some real improvements to their offensive line this offseason, they could still be on the lookout for additional depth next time around. And if those in power cannot agree to a long-term stay for Bradley Bozeman, then a starting center will also be relatively high on their to-do list in 2023.
The Panthers picked up Bozeman on a one-year, $2.8 million deal in free agency. Many believe this could be one of the biggest bargains anywhere in the NFL and might just get the former Alabama stud a big payday when the time comes next spring.
This might force Carolina’s hand and go in a different direction depending on the finances involved. Luke Wypler will have more spotlight on him than most in 2022 given that he will snapping the football to C.J. Stroud at Ohio State, who is in contention to be the No. 1 overall selection if everything goes well in 2022.
Wypler is a ferocious competitor with the athleticism and technical talent to make a real go of things at the next level. He is a strong communicator pre-snap and also intelligent enough to get everyone in the right positions more often than not.
There are some concerns about how Wypler could fare in a power running attack that the Panthers are planning to deploy. But the prospect has the opportunity to quash this notion before his pre-draft evaluations begin.
