The Taysom Hill quarterback experiment was costly and a failure. Something that now has the New Orleans Saints working him as a tight end rather than a multi-purpose weapon under center.

One notable addition for the Saints this offseason was Andy Dalton, a solid veteran that will provide them with a better backup alternative in the event No. 1 option Jameis Winston suffered any further complications on the injury front.

Dalton has had moments of exceptional production – most notably with the Cincinnati Bengals after they selected him No. 2 overall in 2011. His chemistry with wide receiver A.J. Green was nothing short of outstanding when both were at the peak of their powers and the TCU product also emerged as a superb leader within the locker room.

His career stats aren’t as bad as one might suspect. Dalton boasts a 62.2 percent completion percentage for 35,279 yards, 226 touchdowns, and 135 interceptions, but things didn’t go to plan on the Dallas Cowboys filling in for Dak Prescott and inconsistent production with the Chicago Bears in 2021 left him on the outside looking in with eight games under his belt.

Although Dalton’s best days are way behind him, he looks like a good scheme fit in New Orleans if Winston gets hurt again or returns to his erratic self.
