Keith Taylor Jr. – Carolina Panthers CB

The Carolina Panthers have some impressive young talent within their cornerback room. Steve Wilks returning to coach them is another reason this positional group could become an area of real strength when competitive games begin in 2022.

Although the likes of Jaycee Horn, Donte Jackson, and C.J. Henderson gain the majority of headlines, the presence of Keith Taylor Jr. is something else that could assist greatly. The former fifth-round selection came up with the goods on countless occasions as a rookie, proving his worth against the run and in coverage despite little in the way of expectations.

This was a big-time confidence boost for the Washington product. There were times of struggle, obviously, but that’s par for the course when it comes to first-year corners taking such a significant step-up in class.

Taylor’s length and physicality were an asset. If further progress is made in training camp, then he’ll be on the defensive rotation once again and is sure to have a huge say in whatever success comes their way.

The player could be subject to the sophomore slump. So it’s important for the Panthers to keep Taylor focused on improving to avoid these complications next season.
