Kenny Robinson – Carolina Panthers S

After a turbulent start to life with the Carolina Panthers, things are finally looking up for Kenny Robinson. A fantastic turnaround that even the biggest optimist wouldn’t have anticipated at one stage.

Robinson was a fifth-round pick in 2020 following a series of standout performances in the XFL. After getting cut before coming back onto the practice squad, the safety went on to establish himself as a core special teams player and also make the most out of whatever reps came his way on the defensive rotation.

This encouraging transformation from Robinson came with praise from Phil Snow and Matt Rhule following the campaign. But what comes next is of critical importance with some newfound momentum to utilize.

Even though the Panthers acquired Xavier Woods from the Minnesota Vikings in free agency and brought back Juston Burris and Sean Chandler, Robinson could still have a role to play. If the right improvements are made in training camp and the West Virginia product catches the eye of defensive backs coach Steve Wilks, then he could end up being No. 3 on the safety depth chart in Week 1.

If this scenario comes to fruition, it’s another major step in the right direction for Robinson. And anything like the same level of performance he displayed last season would likely see a new contract coming his way next spring.
