Which Carolina Panthers players could lose depth chart position during a hugely important training camp for the franchise in 2022?

We are now less than a week away from the Carolina Panthers descending on Spartanburg for the team’s annual training camp. This will be the most intense part of the preparation period by a considerable margin and what transpires is sure to tell us a lot about what the organization can accomplish in 2022.

The chances of Carolina generating early momentum can be assisted greatly in camp. Bonds will be formed and chemistry developed, but after completely failing to build on a promising start last season, things are hanging in the balance.

Most starting positions are locked up, at least from the outside looking in. But that doesn’t mean one or two players cannot come to the fore and force themselves into the Panthers‘ plans when it’s all said and done.

It’s going to be a must-watch for every fan. Here are four Panthers players that could lose depth chart position if they fail to impress at Wofford College.

Bravvion Roy – Carolina Panthers DT

Bravvion Roy has been a serviceable backup over his first two seasons with the Carolina Panthers. If he wants to carve out a similar role for himself, then he’ll need to keep the likes of Daviyon Nixon and Phil Hoskins from surging past him on the depth chart.

Roy is never going to be a world-beater one suspects. He remains a little undersized and has some issues getting off blocks, so much will depend on how the aforementioned duo develops their respective skills in the stifling heat of Spartanburg.

Matt Rhule is already well aware of Roy’s capabilities having worked with the lineman closely in college. Whether that’s enough for an extended role in 2022 is another matter.
