Which veteran wildcards could shift the balance during an immensely intriguing upcoming campaign for the Carolina Panthers in 2022?
With just a few short days to go until the Carolina Panthers descend on Spartanburg for the team’s training camp, business is about to pick up. The dark days of the NFL offseason are officially a thing of the past and attention is now turning to a crossroads campaign for the organization and head coach Matt Rhule in 2022.
The Panthers have a nice blend of youth and experience to call upon next season. There is also far more knowledge within the coaching staff under Rhule that can provide the assistance needed in key situations.
It’s going to take a monumental effort collectively from top to bottom. Only a cohesive unit will enable Carolina to progress and reinstall confidence within a fanbase that is becoming increasingly frustrated.
Without further ado, here are four veteran wildcards that could shift the balance for Carolina next season.
Veteran Wildcard No. 1
Frankie Luvu – Carolina Panthers LB
Frankie Luvu‘s influence is set to grow for the Carolina Panthers in 2022 after catching the eye considerably from a rotational role. The linebacker was a major contributor on defense and special teams following his free-agent switch from the New York Jets, which saw the organization tie him down as a matter of urgency this spring.
With no Haason Reddick to depend upon, Luvu could slot into a starting role opposite Shaq Thompson on the second level if everything goes well in training camp. This will be a tremendous boost for a unit that’s missed the presence of Luke Kuechly enormously.
If Luvu can provide the same energy and playmaking ability he demonstrated last season, then the Washington State product will be an integral part of any success that comes Carolina’s way.
