Carolina Panthers WR D.J. Moore had a great day

When all around D.J. Moore failed to deliver, the wide receiver once again stepped up and made a lasting impression in 2021. The Carolina Panthers will be expecting the same next season after handing him a bumper extension, but the former first-round pick already looked in midseason form on Day 2 of the team’s training camp.

Moore was arguably the standout performer thanks to some impressive catches, multiple touchdowns, and the best offensive play of camp so far when he connected with Baker Mayfield for a stunning 40-yard catch.

Nobody expects anything different from Moore, in all honesty.

His consistency over the last three seasons has been astounding when one considers the poor quarterback play during that time. The Panthers will be hoping this chemistry with Mayfield can be built upon in the coming weeks before they take on the Cleveland Browns.

The Maryland product stated his intent to get more touchdowns in 2022. Moore was a prominent target of Mayfield’s throughout red-zone drills, which is hopefully a sign of things to come for a player who is now an indispensable member of the roster.

If Moore can maintain his borderline elite production and others bounce back, this offense is sure to flourish under new coordinator Ben McAdoo.
