Jeremy Chinn putting turnover improvements into action

Jeremy Chinn has made no secret of his desire to secure more turnovers in 2022. This is an area he feels can take the Carolina Panthers to greater heights on defense and the talented safety started putting this plan into action on Saturday with an exceptional interception during team drills.

Although it was brought back for a penalty, it was hard to not be impressed by Chinn’s reactions, seeing the play developing and reacting superbly to deny D.J. Moore a catch. Defensive end Darryl Johnson also managed to secure a pick from a poor Baker Mayfield throw to round off another standout practice on the defensive side of the football.

This is a goal Chinn set himself en route to a potential Pro Bowl campaign that would likely see a huge contract coming his way next year. The Southern Illinois product was obviously happy with the takeaway and remained steadfast in his belief that this can be built upon moving forward.

"“That’s the goal. We did that today. As we’re going in the right direction, we’ll continue to build off of it.”"

It’s also worth remembering that the Panthers still have Jaycee Horn to come back into the secondary, which will be another incredible asset to utilize. Head coach Matt Rhule stated the former No. 8 overall selection isn’t that far away, which is timely with the pads going on next week.

Chinn will be the heartbeat of Carolina’s defense in 2022. If his blossoming partnership with Xavier Woods has the expected impact, then this area of the field could be among the league’s best in no time at all.
