Frankie Luvu – Carolina Panthers LB

After a surprising contribution last season, expectations are high for Frankie Luvu after the Carolina Panthers rewarded him with a contract extension this offseason. His high energy and natural instincts were an absolute revelation in 2021 and if the same transpires again from an expected starting role, he’ll be a core piece for a talented defensive unit.

Luvu has also emerged as a surprising leader within the locker room. Another way he can assist a young roster looking to stake a major claim when competitive games arrive.

There isn’t much Luvu cannot do on the football field. He is a dominant sideline-to-sideline presence against the run, can generate pressure in opposing backfields, and also assist in coverage when called upon.

With Haason Reddick on the Philadelphia Eagles, Luvu will be given the task of filling a pretty big void. It’s unlikely the Washington State product can match the sack numbers, but there’s nothing to suggest he cannot ignite the second-level opposite team leader and fellow outside linebacker Shaq Thompson.

Luvu has everything going for him in 2022. And fans can feel extremely confident in the popular figure taking a significant leap forward with more responsibilities on his shoulders.
