4 Panthers players in danger of being cut after preseason Week 2

Mike Horton – Carolina Panthers OL
It was a brutal night overall on the offensive line. Although fans can at least be comforted by the fact that none of those that played the lion’s share of snaps will be anything more than backups at best next season.
The Carolina Panthers should have an improved starting unit. But there are now some real doubts about some expected to secure positions on the depth chart if one or two go down at any stage.
One player that didn’t do his slim roster chances any favors was Mike Horton. He became hesitant coming off the block and was unable to cope with whatever pressure came his way down the stretch.
Much like the situation with Deonte Brown, the time for Horton to be removed from the equation might not be far away. Although the Panthers will still need some additional bodies on the protection until the time for final cuts arrives.
In truth, Horton can have no complaints. It’s not easy for players this far down the pecking order to immediately step up and make a difference when called upon, but that is all part of seizing the opportunities in pursuit of getting noticed.
Horton was unable to accomplish this at the New England Patriots. But he wasn’t alone in that regard.
