Austin Corbett – Carolina Panthers OL

Addressing the offensive line was a necessity for the Carolina Panthers this offseason. Something those in power managed to accomplish effectively without spending too much on the salary cap for good measure.

The biggest arrival from a financial standpoint was Austin Corbett, who joined the organization after contributing heavily to a memorable campaign for the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 that concluded with a deserved Super Bowl triumph.

The right guard built on this positive momentum throughout his brief time in a different environment. leaving hopes high that he can form a consistent partnership with stud right tackle Taylor Moton when things get serious.

Corbett leads by example and is one of the league’s most consistent players at the position. He rarely puts a foot wrong and represents the biggest upgrade imaginable on the likes of John Miller, who occupied the position last season.

The former second-round pick gave up three sacks and conceded two penalties from 1,081 snaps en route to a creditable 68.8 grade from Pro Football Focus in 2021. His previous relationship with Baker Mayfield from their time together with the Cleveland Browns is something else working in Carolina’s favor.

If Corbett can provide the improvements expected, then this could be the biggest signing Carolina made during an eventful free agency period when it’s all said and done.
