Panthers Game Friday: Panthers vs. Bills odds and prediction for Week 3 preseason game
By Dean Jones
Baker Mayfield and the Carolina Panthers finish off their preseason schedule by welcoming the Buffalo Bills to Bank of America Stadium.
After a busy offseason period for the Carolina Panthers, things come to a conclusion on Friday evening with their final preseason game against the Buffalo Bills. This will be the last chance for many to impress before those in power decide who is going through onto the 53-man roster, which needs to be confirmed early next week.
Matt Rhule has preached the need for extra competition across the Panthers during the team’s training camp and preseason games. While this has the scope to decrease continuity in key areas, it’s brought the best out in the roster to further hone their craft before Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns.
The Bills won’t be risking star quarterback Josh Allen for the contest. But the Panthers are planning to give Baker Mayfield at least a quarter after officially confirming him as their starting signal-caller in 2022.
This adds another level of intrigue to the contest, which is the first time fans have seen their heroes in action on home soil during the preseason so far. However, Carolina must build some early momentum to hit the ground running when the real action arrives on September 11.
Carolina Panthers vs. Bills odds for Preseason Week 3
According to the latest odds from WynnBET, the Panthers are 6.0-point favorites to end their warmup fixtures on the right note. The money line stands at -260 for anyone wanting to wager on Carolina (bet $260 to win $100), with the Bills taking the position of underdogs at +210 (bet $100 to win $210).
WynnBET has set the over/under at 40.0 points, which is available at -110 in both directions (bet $110 to win $100).
Carolina Panthers vs. Bills Prediction for Preseason Week 3
Considering that the Panthers are planning to put most of their starters into the game for longer than we’ve seen them this preseason, it would be a major disappointment if they didn’t emerge as comfortable winners. Especially considering the Bills will be resting most of their top guys.
With that being said, taking Carolina +6.0 and over 40.0 points seems like decent wagers to us.
Carolina Panthers’ next game and schedule
The time for big talk will be over for Carolina. Their next game is Week 1 versus the Cleveland Browns to open the regular season in a hotly charged atmosphere centered around Mayfield’s revenge game.
Here are the Panthers’ next five fixtures:
- Week 1: vs. Cleveland Browns
- Week 2: at New York Giants
- Week 3: vs. New Orleans Saints
- Week 4: vs. Arizona Cardinals
- Week 5: vs. San Francisco 49ers
