How will the Carolina Panthers roster take shape after their preseason finale against the Buffalo Bills at Bank of America Stadium?

The Carolina Panthers’ preseason has concluded and the team has its sights on the Cleveland Browns in Week 1 of the regular season. A lot of talented football players joined the organization for training camp and it’ll be unfortunate to see so many fail to realize their dream in the coming days.

With that being said, the NFL is a business. The Panthers did have a few camp standouts that will solidify their spot on the team and that’s what it’s all about.

Scott Fitterer, Matt Rhule, and other influential figures in Carolina have some tough decisions to make as they need to make their final cuts by Tuesday, August 30.

With that being said, here is our final Panthers roster prediction following the end of preseason games.

Carolina Panthers special teams

  • Zane Gonzalez (K), Johnny Hekker (P), J.J. Jansen (LS), Andre Roberts (KR).

This is the most solid special teams unit the Carolina Panthers have had in quite some time. With the additions of All-Pros Johnny Hekker and Andre Roberts, this group has some serious potential.

Zane Gonzalez was one of the most consistent kickers in the league last year, but the Panthers will be nervously awaiting news regarding a groin injury suffered warming up on the sidelines in preseason Week 3. J.J. Jansen has been long snapping for over a decade and looks to continue his steadiness.

Add special teams coordinator Chris Tabor into the mix and this unit is very competent. Look for the Panthers to be much better in this aspect of the game in 2022.
