There was real hope that Kenny Robinson could emerge into a prominent rotational piece in 2022. His rise to prominence last season coupled with some outstanding special teams performances came at just the right time, which was in keeping with the impressive turnaround from a player that was cut before coming back to the practice squad.

Now, things aren’t so clear-cut.

Nobody is questioning Robinson’s talent. And the player deserves credit for overcoming adversity to put himself in a good spot.

However, getting ejected twice on consecutive days during joint practices with the New England Patriots was not a good look.

Robinson’s fire was something the Panthers lacked last season, but with the likes of Juston Burris, Myles Hartsfield, and Sean Chandler also fighting for positions, this might prove the deciding factor when the time comes.

Cutting Robinson after some outstanding performances last season would be a shock. Even though the former XFL standout would likely be settling for a backup role behind projected safety duo Jeremy Chinn and Xavier Woods once again.

But after what’s transpired this offseason, it cannot be dismissed entirely.
