Phil Hoskins – Carolina Panthers DT

Adding to the defensive line is something the Carolina Panthers might consider if the right opportunity comes along before Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns. This is a group devoid of quality depth, so general manager Scott Fitterer will be scouring the waiver wire or perhaps even making a trade to strengthen this area of the field.

Phil Hoskins was one of the shining lights from limited snaps in 2021. The 2021 seventh-round selection was introduced late in the campaign and made his presence felt against the run and in obvious pass-rushing situations.

This left many wondering whether the Kentucky product could rise further this offseason. Although many believe he’ll make the team, some outstanding performances from former Wildcats teammate Marquan McCall have given those in power plenty to think about before final cuts are confirmed.

Hoskins will be anxiously awaiting news of his status. Bravvion Roy looks set to be included and Daviyon Nixon remains a player of promise, so it could be between the Kentucky duo to see who gets the final spot.

If Hoskins is sacrificed, it would represent a shocking development considering how the player was supposed to progress this offseason.
