7 waiver wire targets the Carolina Panthers could claim after final cuts

Carolina Panthers could claim Jaylen Twyman
As stated previously, the Minnesota Vikings did not attach themselves to the 2021 draft class selected by Mike Zimmer and Rick Spielman. Many of their top-end prospects were sent packing, including quarterback Kellen Mond just one season into his professional career.
Another name cut loose was Jaylen Twyman. The versatile defensive lineman built some positive momentum last offseason before missing the entire campaign due to gunshot wounds – a stroke of bad luck the player was unable to bounce back from under a different regime.
Twyman deserves credit for working exceptionally hard this summer to put himself in contention, at the very least. The former Pittsburgh standout flashed exceptional traits during his time in the ACC and if the Carolina Panthers are looking for another defensive piece to aid the rotation, it might be worth taking a flier on the second-year-pro.
While misfortune robbed Twyman of a chance to immediately make his presence felt, it would be surprising if another organization didn’t take a swing. There was just too much talent on his college tape to state otherwise.
Carolina brought undrafted free agent Marquan McCall onto the 53-man roster after a standout camp. This might alter their train of thought given how well the Kentucky product took on the challenge.
