What are some reasons to be excited about the Carolina Panthers during a crossroads season for the organization in 2022?

One could forgive the Carolina Panthers fanbase for being a little down in the dumps of late. Three consecutive seasons with just five wins will do that and it remains to be seen whether things can start moving forward positively during the upcoming campaign.

The pressure is on head coach Matt Rhule to get things right. Although team owner David Tepper remains supportive, there’s every chance that could change if the Panthers suffer more misery in 2022.

Getting some early wins in the column is crucial. This could allow the Panthers to build momentum en route to a winning record or perhaps even a shock wildcard berth in a weak-looking NFC.

With this in mind, here are four reasons to be excited about Carolina in 2022.

Carolina Panthers have a revamped OL

The offensive line has seen a massive change in the offseason as Scott Fitterer went out and got Austin Corbett from the Los Angeles Rams, Bradley Bozeman from the Baltimore Ravens, and drafted number Ikem Ekwonu at No. 6 overall.

The right side of the ball with Taylor Moton and Corbett will be very solid, so Baker Mayfield should not have to worry about too much leakage off the experienced and consistent duo. But the left side of Brady Christensen and Ekwonu need to learn fast as they are very young but pouring with potential.

Christensen allowed three sacks and 25 hurries last season. The former third-round pick was utilized at almost every position, but having a long-term plan now that Ekwonu is the blindside protector could make a huge difference for the Carolina Panthers in 2022.
