Which Carolina Panthers players were fortunate to find their names on the 53-man roster heading into the 2022 season?

The Carolina Panthers seem to be happy with what they have on their roster heading into the 2022 season. Those in power did not put in a waiver wire claim despite plenty of intriguing players available, with head coach Matt Rhule declaring his confidence in the options at the team’s disposal following practice on Wednesday.

That’s all well and good. But there could be some problem positions that need strengthening if the Panthers don’t start well in 2022 and the organization has enough salary-cap space to pull off a move or two should they wish.

There were few surprises when final cuts were made. Although the trade to acquire Laviska Shenault Jr. from the Jacksonville Jaguars shifted the landscape slightly on the offensive side of things.

With that being said, here are four Panthers players who were fortunate to make the 53-man roster in 2022.

Jeremy Chinn and Xavier Woods are locked in as the starting safety duo for 2022. But what the Carolina Panthers brought through as depth chart pieces on the backend was up in the air.

As it turned out, the Panthers cut both Kenny Robinson and Juston Burris – two prominent rotational guys last season – in favor of keeping Sam Franklin and Sean Chandler on the books. Something of a surprise considering the production differences during the previous campaign.

Franklin’s special teams’ contributions seem to have been the deciding factor. However, Robinson was ejected on both days of joint practices with the New England Patriots, which also played a role in Carolina’s eventual decision.
