5 Panthers players whose hype train is rolling entering 2022 season

Frankie Luvu – Carolina Panthers OLB
After playing a starring role on a rotational basis in 2021, Frankie Luvu gets the chance to showcase his outstanding abilities from a starting role next season.
The Carolina Panthers handed the dynamic linebacker a new contract this spring in recognition of his outstanding efforts. All signs point to the Washington State product becoming a core component behind any success that comes their way on defense providing there are no complications on the injury front.
Luvu has been nothing short of dominant this offseason. His instincts and high energy were there for all to see during camp and his time on the field in preseason, so it’ll be interesting to see how this translates to a competitive setting in the coming months.
Another notable element of Luvu’s contribution is leadership. The second-level defender is an emerging presence within the locker room, which will be needed when times get tough for one of the NFL’s youngest rosters.
Carolina has two consistent outside linebackers in Luvu and Shaq Thompson. Hopefully, those tasked with manning the middle linebacker spot can do enough for this key area not to become a weak link for the third straight season since Luke Kuechly’s retirement.
