Carolina Panthers could target Adrian Amos

  • Safety | Green Bay Packers

Another safety the Carolina Panthers could take a look at is Adrian Amos. And a recent feature by CBS Sports ranked him as the tenth best safety in the NFL.

Pairing Amos with Jeremy Chinn would be deadly. Although much will depend on how Xavier Woods gets on in 2022 following his free-agent move from the Minnesota Vikings.

Amos has a lot of similar athletic traits to Chinn. The Green Bay Packers use him in a variety of different packages, which would make Carolina difficult to game plan for given how Phil Snow likes to mix things up on any given down.

The former fifth-rounder out of Penn State is excellent against the run and when it comes to pass protection. His high football IQ would be great for Carolina’s defense, especially the young cornerbacks that could use the veteran’s experience and knowledge to grow in the NFL.

This addition would solidify the backend for the Panthers, making this secondary strike fear in the opposing offenses with no holes or weaknesses in the backend. Amos has four voided years on his contract after the 2022 season, but whether Green Bay can free up enough funds to keep him around is the big question.

Amos will be focusing on what he can control. And the defensive back won’t be short of offers if he does end up on the market that’s for sure.
