What are some realistic goals that Carolina Panthers quarterback Baker Mayfield can aim for during the 2022 season?
Incredible media attention has followed Baker Mayfield throughout his football journey. The Carolina Panthers made a bold move to acquire the quarterback in pursuit of progression next season, which also represents another chance for the No. 1 overall selection in 2018 to prove his doubters wrong immediately.
Mayfield’s transition to the Panthers went incredibly smoothly. He picked up the scheme well, integrated superbly within the locker room, and showed more than enough to comfortably beat out Sam Darnold for the starting job.
Whether Mayfield can inject the Panthers with enough life to make significant improvements is another matter. There is an abundance of talent on offense to give it a real go next time around, with the presence of offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo another intriguing dynamic that could propel the signal-caller to a bounce-back campaign.

Carolina Panthers get 25 passing TDs from Baker Mayfield
Considering the weapons at Baker Mayfield’s disposal, this is a pretty good landing spot for the player. His skills also look like a nice fit within offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo’s complex scheme to further enhance anticipation.
Mayfield’s gunslinging mentality and willingness to take risks can help the Carolina Panthers if harnessed correctly. This could be more evident in third down and red-zone situations – two areas where the offense has struggled since Matt Rhule took over as head coach.
If Mayfield can throw 25 touchdowns and cut down his interceptions, this represents a good season. Although there’s every chance it could be much higher if everything clicks into place instantly.
