Baker Mayfield leads Carolina Panthers by example
There’s been a notable shift in Baker Mayfield’s demeanor following his trade to the Carolina Panthers. Getting cast aside by the Cleveland Browns was a humbling experience, with accusations about childish, immature behavior from anonymous sources throwing further shade on the quarterback this spring.
Mayfield’s more focused now than ever. Keen to take advantage of an immediate starting opportunity that looked for a long time as if it wouldn’t arrive.
His team-first approach and outstanding leadership qualities are traits that have gone down well in Carolina so far. More importantly, it’s got everyone pulling in the same direction after so much uncertainty at the position.
This is a positive step for Mayfield. A newfound maturity that can be the catalyst to greater things moving forward.
There will be times of struggle. Carolina is up against a daunting schedule with most already writing them off, so Mayfield needs to keep this mentality through the good times and the bad in 2022.
Leading by example throughout is an attainable goal for Mayfield. One that he already looks well on the way to accomplishing.
