Bold predictions for the Carolina Panthers as they go in search of legitimate progress during the upcoming 2022 season.

We are now officially in gameday week as the Carolina Panthers get set to begin their 2022 season against the Cleveland Browns at Bank of America Stadium. Although this will be dubbed the Baker Mayfield revenge game, it also represents an outstanding chance for the franchise to set the tone for what will hopefully be a much-improved campaign.

The signs are positive and confidence is high within the Panthers. But after securing just 15 wins over the last three seasons, one couldn’t say with any confidence which way it’s going to go in Year 3 of Matt Rhule’s tenure.

At least from the outside looking in, everything is in place. However, the Panthers have a difficult schedule to overcome and there are one or two positional groups that could hold them back when it’s all said and done.

With that being said, here are five bold predictions for the Panthers during the 2022 season.

Carolina Panthers OL becomes a top-12 unit

Making the offensive line a top priority was a welcome change of pace for the Carolina Panthers this offseason. Something that was almost a necessity after another campaign littered with inconsistencies and no accountability.

Austin Corbett, Bradley Bozeman, and No. 6 overall selection Ikem Ekwonu are huge upgrades at their respective positions. Brady Christensen should also assist at the left guard spot and Taylor Moton’s production over the last three seasons has been nothing short of exemplary.

Add the presence of offensive line coach James Campen into the mix, and it’s not hard to see why the Panthers might have one of the league’s most improved units in 2022.
