5 bold predictions for the Carolina Panthers in 2022

Carolina Panthers QB Baker Mayfield throws for 4,500 yards
Baker Mayfield‘s road to redemption begins with a clash against his old employers. An immediate chance to silence his doubts during what promises to be a highly-charged atmosphere at Bank of America Stadium.
Despite a report surfacing this spring about “mutual disinterest” between the Carolina Panthers and Mayfield, it was clear from a long way out he was the team’s primary target in pursuit of an upgrade under center. What’s transpired since the trade was confirmed has been extremely positive surrounding a player with the biggest chip imaginable on his shoulder.
Mayfield’s fitted in seamlessly. Getting up to speed with Ben McAdoo’s scheme was a test and there might have been some preconceived ideas about the Oklahoma product within the locker room based on reports of childish, immature behavior during his time in Cleveland.
Not only has Mayfield picked up the playbook in double-quick time. But his attitude and overall character have gone down extremely well, impressing even the most skeptical teammates such as wide receiver Robbie Anderson.
Mayfield’s career-high for passing yards is 3,827 in 2019. Providing he hits the ground running, there is a high chance this number is eclipsed with the weapons available and Christian McCaffrey alongside him in the backfield.
This would not only restore Mayfield’s reputation after a disappointing 2021 campaign. But it would probably be enough for the Panthers to keep the player around for another season at least.
