Final Carolina Panthers game-by-game predictions for the 2022 season
By Dean Jones
After another eventful offseason for the Carolina Panthers, how could the team fare during a crossroads campaign in 2022?
It’s been a long summer full of drama and rumors surrounding the Carolina Panthers. Now, attention turns to putting together a better product during the 2022 season.
In terms of stakes, things could not be more perilous. Three consecutive five-win campaigns – two under head coach Matt Rhule – means legitimate progress is essential if some prominent figures within the organization want to keep their jobs.
The Panthers boast plenty of talent across the board. But some problem areas could become weak links and Rhule also needs to adjust far better in games that he has over his opening two campaigns.
Things are hanging in the balance, but there is a quiet sense of optimism if everything goes well immediately. With this in mind, we took a look at how Carolina might fare in our final game-by-game predictions for 2022.
Week 1
Carolina Panthers vs. Cleveland Browns
What a game to get everyone started.
Baker Mayfield going up against his former team in Week 1 is nothing short of fascinating. But this represents a fantastic chance for the Carolina Panthers to set the tone in front of their home fans at Bank of America Stadium.
Prediction: Win (1-0)
All the headlines will be centered on Mayfield. However, the Panthers’ defense could give backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett an endless amount of problems providing they can cope sufficiently with an exceptional Cleveland Browns rushing attack.
