Christian McCaffrey Prop Bets

  • First touchdown score at +500 – FanDuel

There was a need for the Carolina Panthers to be cautious with Christian McCaffrey in 2022. The running back’s recent injury problems are well documented, but for Ben McAdoo to allocate just three carries to the All-Pro in the first half was simply unacceptable.

Teams are always going to stack the box and prevent McCaffrey from influencing proceedings. That should not detract Carolina’s offensive coordinator from giving him the football.

McAdoo has the scheme things up better for McCaffrey. He must also ensure that the offense has a balanced approach to avoid a ninth-straight defeat.

After so much talk of the Stanford product’s usage this week, McAdoo could feel enough pressure to make McCaffrey the workhorse right out of the gate. Something that could open things up for Baker Mayfield and the passing attack as the contest goes on.

It’s a fine line between success and failure for the Panthers in this one. Having an elite difference-maker such as McCaffrey is only going to help.

Setting the tone is a realistic goal if McCaffrey gets the run game going. It won’t be easy against a team that restricted Derrick Henry to 82 rushing yards in Week 1, but backing the former first-round pick to score the game’s first touchdown at +500 (bet $100 to win $500) could be worth its weight in gold.
