D.J. Moore – Carolina Panthers WR

D.J. Moore only had three receptions off six targets for 43 receiving yards in Week 1. As the top Carolina Panthers playmaker at his position, one outing is not enough to cause concern or pull the alarm.

The Maryland product is adjusting to a new quarterback and Baker Mayfield had some issues with the snap exchange and a defensive front that overwhelmed him in the first half. This hurt Moore a lot in terms of numbers, as did Carolina’s inability to control time of possession.

Start or Sit in Week 2?

START.

Moore is still a solid option as a WR2 in all leagues in Week 2 against the New York Giants. He will find more open space against the secondary and Mayfield should have additional time to go through his reads with a defensive line that is not as dominant as Myles Garrett and company.

Robbie Anderson – Carolina Panthers WR

This felt like old times, right?

Robbie Anderson and Baker Mayfield were on the same page in Week 1. This resulted in the wide receiver becoming the most targeted player on the day, bringing in five of eight receptions for 102 receiving yards.

The 75-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter saved Anderson’s fantasy day as the deep ball is his specialty, blowing by the defense with his speed to put the Carolina Panthers back into the contest.

Start or Sit in Week 2?

BUYER BEWARE.

Anderson is touchdown-dependent, even though he has the most chemistry with Mayfield. The former Temple star merits flex play in deep leagues, but do not expect the long ball to hit every game.

While he was the most targeted wide receiver in Week 1, I do not expect that to be the case every week with D.J. Moore and Christian McCaffrey also available.
