Carolina Panthers cannot count on Matt Rhule

The Carolina Panthers need to simply look within their division to see that Matt Rhule‘s offense is never going to work. The Atlanta Falcons managed to score 27 points against the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams during their narrow loss with Marcus Mariota at quarterback.

What’s that got to do with anything, one could ask? Mariota and Baker Mayfield are very comparable, with the clear difference being superior weapons in Carolina.

The Panthers struggled to score against the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants in consecutive weeks. Two teams that are hardly known for their elite defenses.

Cleveland just collapsed to Joe Flacco and the New York Jets in Week 2 and the Giants gave Carolina every chance to win this game.

Rhule’s offense alongside Ben McAdoo isn’t working. We have seen more than enough to indicate he will not be able to turn this season around and isn’t the franchise changer he was believed to be after signing a seven-year, $62 million deal.

The former Baylor man has cycled through four starting quarterbacks. But it doesn’t matter who is under center, Carolina’s offense is ineffective and dull.

While he deserves credit for the defense, this game is offensively driven and Rhule has his work cut out steering this sinking ship around in pursuit of saving his job.
