C.J. Henderson – Carolina Panthers CB

The one weakness that the Carolina Panthers can, and need, to exploit in this game is the one that has always plagued quarterback Jameis Winston. Turnovers.

Everyone can remember that magical 30-30 season and 2022 already looks like another one of those years for the New Orleans Saints starter as the embattled quarterback already has three interceptions to go with only three touchdowns.

Winston is and always will be the guy who will win or lose you the game with his arm, it’s as simple as that. This is a tendency that the Panthers must capitalize on and the player looking to have the best opportunity to do so is cornerback C.J. Henderson.

Before a late-game hamstring injury, Donte Jackson would have occupied this slot. But even if the injury-prone corner plays on Sunday it will likely be in a limited role.

So, enter Henderson. A former first-round pick that has never quite lived up to expectations and is looking for a chance to make a mark.

What better way to do that than by turning the tide for a slumping Panthers team in search of a spark? Henderson has the speed and IQ to be that difference maker for the team, it’s just a matter of putting it all together at the same time because Winston could give him a chance or two.

A lot of weight is about to be thrust on Henderson’s shoulders, especially if the young player is lined up against Michael Thomas. It just remains to be seen if the Florida product can handle it.
