Ben McAdoo – Carolina Panthers OC

It was another disappointing week for the Carolina Panthers on offense in Week 2. There was no creativity or invention within offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo’s game plan, which made things all-too-easy for the New York Giants to get one over on their former head coach.

McAdoo’s appointment was met with widespread derision. His influence was evident across the offseason period, but he’s done nothing to suggest he was the right hire over the opening two contests.

This is McAdoo’s approach, which is outdated compared to modern-day NFL offenses. There also appears to be a clear shift in Matt Rhule’s intent to become a power running attack – an odd turn of events considering it was one of the reasons why he fired Joe Brady midway through their bye week in 2021.

There did not appear to be too much concern from McAdoo when discussing the offensive inefficiency at Thursday’s presser. But that is not a sentiment echoed by the fanbase or media analysts who can see for themselves how bland the system is.

The New Orleans Saints boast a top defensive unit with gifted playmakers at all three levels. If McAdoo doesn’t make the necessary adjustments, it’ll be another long afternoon at Bank of America Stadium.
