3 changes the Panthers coaching staff must make in Week 3 vs. Saints

Carolina Panthers must improve consistency on defense
The defense is very shaky week to week. Phil Snow’s unit looks like of the league’s best one minute and the next it’s average at best.
That comes down to coaching. Whether it is teaching complacency or failing to adjust accordingly during games, this is a big problem for the Carolina Panthers and has been the case for a large portion of Snow’s time with the franchise.
The Panthers’ run defense in particular is the one to worry about going forward. This area looked much improved in Week 2 at the New York Giants, but there was a lack of consistency down the stretch that proved to be their undoing.
Providing he is fit enough to participate, another elite running back comes to town this week in Alvin Kamara. The Panthers struggle against prolific ground games and the Tennessee product represents a tough challenge for Carolina if they aren’t firing from the outset.
Snow needs to get this defense to sustain success in the run game. For that to change, the defensive line must take focus rather than walking up safeties and cornerbacks to the line of scrimmage.
The Panthers weren’t able to find another big body run stopper in free agency, and it’s beginning to show when teams target in between the tackle run concepts. Something that won’t have gone unnoticed by the Saints during their preparations.
