4 Saints players the Carolina Panthers must contain in Week 3

Carolina Panthers must contain Cameron Jordan
An ever-present threat along the edge for most of the biggest moments between these two squads for 12 seasons, stopping Cameron Jordan has always been priority No. 1 for the Carolina Panthers and that is no different for this reworked offensive line.
Elected to the Pro Bowl in each of the past five seasons, Jordan is the best defensive player for the New Orleans Saints. That is saying something given the presence of another player that will be mentioned later on this list.
The savvy veteran will have to be salivating at the opportunity to test Ikem Ekwonu after what Myles Garrett was able to do in Week 1. Then again, this is the best opposition that the edge rusher has faced in a long while, even if the rookie is somewhat inconsistent.
Jordan is a bad sack waiting to happen, and that is still a major concern for this Panthers offense. Baker Mayfield has had relatively solid protection to start the year, but it only takes one questionable matchup to flip the script entirely.
With the quality of the Saints’ secondary, Mayfield is going to need time to read his progressions if the passing game is going to have any success and that begins and ends with stopping Jordan. Whether this can be accomplished or not is another matter entirely.
